Queens’ Marketplace Celebrates Keiki Returning To School With Back-To-School Bash Saturday, August 7
KOHALA COAST, Hawai‘i Island— On Saturday, August 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Queens’ MarketPlace will help get kids excited about heading back to school with a Back-to-School Bash. Families can find exclusive discounts, while keiki can play participate in outdoor games and a chalk art activity.
For parents seeking to save on back-to-school gear, a 25-percent-off savings pass can be redeemed at participating merchants and downloaded from the Queens’ MarketPlace website. Shoppers who spend a minimum of $100 throughout the mall are eligible to receive a free gift (face mask pouch, stainless steel water bottle and hand sanitizer) as a thank you for shopping locally at Queens’ MarketPlace.
All first responders and firefighters battling the Mana Road brush fire this week will be presented with the gift pack as a mahalo for their vital services also, no purchase necessary.
An eye-catching tropical school bus mural will be painted on the Queens’ MarketPlace sidewalk by local artist Shaina Coey over the weekend. During the Back-to-School Bash, keiki are invited to channel their inner artist and help complete the mural with vibrant chalks, provided for free in the Coronation Pavilion.
Popular radio host from KWXX-FM G. Cruz will be broadcasting live from the Coronation Pavilion from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. also, keeping shoppers inspired by playing the island’s favorite tunes, plus providing giveaways and special announcements.
To help keep everyone safe this school year, North Hawai’i Community Hospital is hosting a Mobile Covid-19 Vaccination Clinic the same day. Guests can receive a free vaccine between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the clinic located in the Food Court. A $25 Queens’ MarketPlace gift card will be presented to the first 25 people to receive their vaccine, and the first 50 to receive their vaccine will receive a $5 Starbucks gift card.
