QUEENS’ MARKETPLACE ANNOUNCES OPENING OF TWO NEW BUSINESSES
Hawaii Fluid Art and Kozy’s Tiki Palace Now Welcoming Customers
KOHALA COAST, Hawai‘i Island—Two diverse new businesses have recently opened their doors at Queens’ MarketPlace. Hawaii Fluid Art and Kozy’s Tiki Palace launched their innovative, dual-use spaces this spring next door to each other, offering visitors to the MarketPlace memorable, Hawaiian-inspired experiences amidst the popular existing shops and restaurants.
“We are excited to welcome our two newest tenants to Queens’ MarketPlace,” Property Marketing Manager Hanna Bree says. “They’re similar but different in that they both offer locally made art and a one-of-a-kind experience unique to themselves.”
Hawaii Fluid Art is a 900-square-foot combination art studio and gallery. Upon entering, visitors are met with an enticing, vibrant array of artistic works crafted by local artisans, including fiber and wood arts, paintings, jewelry and more. Further inside, a studio awaits where professional teaching artist Maya Ratcliff instructs students on her proprietary technique of making fluid art pieces on canvas that can be proudly displayed or gifted once complete.
A certified art therapist for people with brain injuries, Ratcliff launched her new studio and gallery with a mission “To inspire and nurture the human spirit one painting at a time.” Guest artists also teach lessons in other mediums. Classes are booked by appointment, and available seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Next door, Kozy’s Tiki Palace showcases internationally acclaimed and award-winning comic magician Kozak as he dazzles guests with his entertaining and amusing sleight of hand.
Kozak, or “Kozy”, has gained international fame and attention as a headline stand-up comedy performer during his 38 years in the business. Infusing magic into his stand-up routine, Kozy has been featured on myriad television shows and networks, including HBO, The Tonight Show, The Late Show and Comedy Central, as well as having been broadcast in global markets.
Among his achievements is an acclaimed performance for the British Royal Family in London. As well, world-renowned comedian Dennis Miller called him, “The single greatest magician I have ever seen.”
In addition to Kozy’s nightly performances at 6 and 8 p.m., an engaging fusion of magic and comedy that is never the same, Kozy’s Tiki Palace also features a gallery with eye-catching Hawaiiana and tiki art made by local artists, as well as pieces from Kozy’s personal collection acquired around the world.
“I feel so thankful and blessed to have joined the Queens’ MarketPlace ohana,” Kozy shares.
